Hunting Tournament System

Dedicated to the memory of Illyrians no longer with us

dewt

A system for creating and running hunting tournaments where participation and scoring can be restricted based on a variety of factors.

It is designed so individual players can create their own tournaments without the need for a server to run them from.

  • No need for registration although the organiser can require it.
  • No API keys used.
  • Competitors responsible for submitting their own combat data.
  • Possible for multiple tournaments to be run at the same time.
  • Participation in a particular tournament can currently be restricted by alliance and/or region (multiple regions and alliances possible) and is is planned to add restrictions for player id and town id.

The organisers are responsible for the provision and distribution of any prizes for their tournaments. Support is available for the organisers by contacting Tensmoor.

This is a development page for tournaments based around individual players/towns instead of the normal alliance based ones. There is no need to pre-register or share api keys. Instead the individual player is responsible for submitting the data themselves.

  • Data is submitted via the the in-game Battle Reports. Open the report for the battle you want to submit.
  • Click the XML button at the bottom of the report.
  • Copy the url from the address bar of the new page that has opened and paste it into the long input box on the tournament page.

Population (Pop)
Population numbers are gathered at the time a report is submitted to a tournament. For towns this is the pop of that town while for players and alliances this is the total population for all towns belonging to the player or alliance. These figures are stored as part of each report submitted. Where a scenario involves multiple reports the MAXIMUM pop figure is used.
Kills
The number of defenders killed.
MDQ
A dificulty ranking that indicates how hard it is to kill members of a particular NPC family (ie Wild Dogs, Giant Rats etc)
Kill Ratio
The number of defenders killed divided by the number of attackers killed. For scenarios involving multiple battles (a town, player or alliance based tournament) the individual ratios for each battle are calculated and the results averaged.
MDQ Kills
The number of defenders killed multiplied by their MDQ rating (ie 10 Giant Rats * 1.200 = 12.000, 10 Wild Dogs * 0.700 = 7.000). This allows the tougher NPCs to generate a higher score. For scenarios involving multiple battles (a town, player or alliance based tournament) the individual scores for each battle are calculated and the results summed.
MDQ Kill Ratio
The number of defenders killed multiplied by their MDQ rating and the result divided by the number of attackers killed. For scenarios involving multiple battles (a town, player or alliance based tournament) the individual ratios for each battle are calculated and the results averaged.
Grouping
The grouping is set by the tournament creator and controls how the reports are agregated. The options are Alliance, Player, Town and None.
Divisions
The creator selects what will be used to split the results into divisions. They also set the upper and lower limits of that value for each division. There are a maximum of 5 divisions available. By carefull setting of the upper and lower division boundaries the creator can limit which reports will be used in the results. For instance setting the division controller to Town Pop with limits for the first division to 5000 and 20000 the creator in effect rules out any town under 5000 population.
Restriction on Alliances
The creator can define which allinces can submit reports to a tournament. If there are no alliances listed then the tournament is open to everyone (including those not in an alliance). If there are any tickers listed then only members of those alliances can submit reports. A ticker of NONE allows those not in an alliance to submit reports.
Restriction on Regions
If any regions are listed for a tournament then only reports for battles in those regions can be submitted.
